I'm note sure how but it has an impact that a text message or a Facebook wall post does not. Don't get me wrong, I love electronic communication and I use it frequently - but this post reminded me what I know about the power of a written note of appreciation and love. A great reminder for leaders, for parents, for spouses to take a few extra minutes and do the unexpected with a short note that says, "I love and appreciate you." Wise words to heed. I think I'll go send a note right now to my kids who are away for the summer. I just spoke to them by phone but I think they'd be pleasantly surprised with a love note from Mom.
